The BDR uncovers new business opportunities by leveraging lead generation tools to research and contact potential customers.  The BDR operates as a liaison between the Marketing and Sales teams to develop new client relationships, especially at the CXO level, that ultimately result in the first sale to the customer.

In order to bring strong insights that benefit target accounts, the BDR researches and stays current on the developments of strategic opportunities, challenges, operational and technological developments, and organizational changes at target accounts. The BDR augments account lists by pre-qualifying customers that exhibit indicators of receptiveness to the value proposition of TenFour services. 

The BDR will utilize a number of lead generation and marketing automation tools to uncover, qualify, contact and track prospective customers.  The BDR uses communication skills to develop leads from marketing campaigns and cultivate strong relationships from first contact until opportunities are seamlessly passed to a Business Development Executive.  This role works closely with Marketing to develop and test messaging and tools used to reach prospects.

Job Responsibilities
  • Research and qualify leads from marketing campaigns as sales opportunities.
  • Leverage lead generation tools to contact potential clients using a multi-touch approach (calls, emails, etc.).
  • Contact CXO level prospects through meaningful discussions/meetings with the decision maker and key influencers of prospective customers.
  • Document and share lead/customer intelligence with sales team.
  • Help bring new prospects from lead to opportunity to close.
  • Maintain current and complete documentation of the sales cycle within the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools.
Job Skill Requirements
  • Outstanding communication and writing skills with a keen ability to translate complex technical information into intuitive content and materials.
  • 1-5 years of IT industry experience, with at least 1 year building leads.
  • Collaborative team player who’s open to feedback and able to maintain a sense of humor and positive attitude even under pressure.
  • Ability to conduct routine tasks with great autonomy.
  • Experience collecting information from a variety of sources to create a coherent singular strategy/documentation.
  • Superior time management skills, equipped to work in a fast-paced & changeable environment.
  • Quick, adaptive learner with a passion for discovering new industry sales and marketing ideas.
  • Ability to comfortably interface and develop strong working relationships with colleagues from across the company, including upper management.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Business or a related field; additional technical degrees and training are a plus.
  • Preferred: Experience with Lead/Demand Generation tools (SalesLoft, DiscoverOrg/Zoom Info, for example).
  • Preferred: Knowledge of CRM platforms (, for example).
