Behind the Scenes of TenFour’s ‘A Better Way’ Video
After months of writing and planning, three days of filming, and three weeks of editing, we've unveiled our newest promotional video—"A Better Way"—designed to explain how progressive CIOs power their digital business with TenFour. To celebrate the release of this video we wanted to give you a glimpse behind the scenes of our film shoot with a short photo gallery!
Special thanks to our partners in crime, Hologram Visuals, for all their hard work in imagining, planning, and producing the Marketing team's biggest film project yet. We were thrilled to work with such a talented group—including a production assistant, make-up artist, sound producer, and more—to make our dream a reality. Chris York and Greg Papalcure, the dynamic duo behind the Hologram Visuals commercial video studio, set up one of the most crucial shots at the first of our film shoot locations.
Although this scene is close to last in the video’s structure, it was the first to be filmed. This scene drives the video’s message home, so we wanted to give our lead actor, Taylor Allen, time enough to get it right.
All of the cast and crew, including our board room extras, worked hard throughout the first day of shooting to ensure every element of this scene was perfect, resulting in dozens of takes.
The right lighting is integral to making a scene pop on film, but the norther New Jersey forest’s canopy doesn’t make it easy. A “bounce”—a flat piece of reflective material—is used by the crew to direct light as needed.
Part of the struggle of filming on a mountain path was the simple act of walking backwards. Because the director and cameraman are looking through view finders as they move with the actors, it was vital to silently tell them if roots or rocks were lurking behind.
Filming in Washington Rock, New Jersey had its perks. The best one? Dramatic mountaintop vistas that helped drive home the point that CIOs can accomplish anything.
It was a delight to have a few young extras on set to portray the main characters’ daughters. They helped keep everyone’s energy up throughout a long day of shooting.
One of the unforeseen difficulties of filming in a baseball field: there’s very little to protect the film environment from ambient noise. Every time a plane flew by overhead we needed to cut and record again.
The second of our lead actors, Mike O’Keefe, portrayed the successful CIO with aplomb. If you look closely in the video you’ll notice his hat features an amusing detail!
Once we acquired the required permit and permissions, the boardwalk in Seaside Heights, New Jersey provided a vibrant backdrop to the last leg of our shoot.
Filming alongside the booth games and prizes was fun for everyone, including the crew, the booth employees, and the youngest extra members of our cast.
It takes a village! Thanks to every member of the cast and crew for helping to make this special project a success!
